We worked with Hoa to take our engagement photos in Hanoi, and we LOVED the experience and the photos! This was our first photoshoot together, and Hoa made us feel super comfortable. We love the photos and are excited to get prints made for our home. Hoa has a really creative eye and we loved working with him!
What a GIFT it is to have these photos from Hoa. He captured our family of six perfectly in some of our favorite spots downtown. The kids loved him and therefore had natural smiles and a lot of fun! He directed us just enough for great shots while snapping at all the organic moments too. After living in Vietnam for 16 yearsโฆ these last family photos are treasures. Hoa is such a nice guy too!!
Hoa Tran was very fast and efficient in his replies. I had booked him to capture my proposal to my girlfriend in Ba Vi mountain and Hoa Tran was truly excellent. During my stay in Hanoi, meeting Hoa was amazing, he makes you feel good, and help you when you are shy, itโs more than taking pictures itโs also a walking tour giving you explanations about the city! He even got some local food for me! Besides that he delivers a really really EXQUISITE Job! The pictures are on point!
We had a fantastic time doing a couple's photoshoot with Hoa in Hanoi. He was very welcoming when we first met which made us very relaxed. Not only did he take us to great photogenic places he also showed us around the city and gave us a view from a locals perspective. We got to see the raw photos straight away and even without edits they're amazing.
My sister booked us a honeymoon photo shoot as our wedding gift, and we wanted shots that felt very Hanoi. Hoa took us to a ton of cool spots around the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake and out to Long Bien Bridge. We are both pretty awkward on camera but Hoa made us feel comfortable, caught some amazing shots and got the edits back to us super quickly! Such a great souvenir of our trip.
This is our second year using Hoa Tran for our yearly family photos. Hoa is kind and professional, and always on time. He's really great at working with kids. Hoa's been so helpful when it comes to finding locations to shoot around Hanoi, and was open to our ideas. I have referred him to several friend who have also been pleased with Hoa's work.

I highly recommend Hoa Tran Photography! We did a family photoshoot with him entirely outdoors this past weekend. Our young children are 6 years old, 4 years old, and 1 year old. It is nearly impossible to keep them still long enough to capture a good family photo! Yet, Hoa managed to succeed on this with so many amazing photos! He caught all the moments, truly capturing each individual personality. He was incredibly easy to work with, incredibly patient, and calm -- a true feat with my rambunctious family! He recommended the perfect settings for our photo session. It didn't take long for us to forget Hoa was even there at times -- he put us at such ease to where it felt like a regular family outing. We had fun, and got to see a new site in Hanoi we hadn't yet been to. You will not go wrong with Hoa Tran. He delivers 100% on your requests. He is a very talented photographer. His shots are absolutely beautiful. His communication is top-notch!
We recently had photos with Hoa as a pre-wedding shoot. The main purpose from our perspective was to become more comfortable in front of the camera so we're ready for our wedding in the US later in the year, as well as record us infant of some of our favourite places in Hanoi. We were so happy with how the day went, he met us early in the morning so it wasn't too hot and we managed to get some great shots of us looking natural, feeling comfortable and all at flattering angles. I would recommend Hoa for any photos in Hanoi and beyond, his service was impeccable with having the edited photos in our inbox within 48 hours!

This review is long overdue since our trip to Vietnam was last year. I'm so thankful for the wonderful pictures we have of our time touring Hanoi with Hoa Tran. He was able to capture the vibe of the city we fell in love with as well as get some great shots of 2 people who are usually terrible in front of the camera. I highly recommend booking with this talented and fun local photographer!

We were transiting Hanoi for a day (en route to Ha Long Bay), in fact just an afternoon and wanted to get some photos taken for my younger son's 2nd birthday.I found it extremely easy to communicate with Hoa from the moment I submitted my enquiry. He gave good suggestions as to where we could go and was very flexible with switching things around (much appreciated when you're going straight from airport to hotel to photo shoot with two little ones!)But what I was most impressed with was Hoa's creativity and professionalism. After taking photos at Westlake, we were making our way to train street when there was a sudden downpour! As soon as we stepped out of the taxi, the rains came pouring and was unrelentless. Hoa did some quick thinking and rushed to get us some raincoats. We got some fantastic photos of my son playing with rain dripping down from the roof. Truly priceless.Even at the train station, Hoa braved the rickety tracks with us and got us some really beautiful shots!Hoa speaks really good English and is extremely accommodating. I highly recommend him if you're looking to capture some special moments in Hanoi! Thanks so much, Hoa!!

I needed a photographer to capture my proposal in Halong Bay and Hoa was very responsive and easy to communicate with even though I was on the other side of the world! As the date of the proposal approached, he was very flexible and he went the extra mile by helping me scout the location and give me weather updates. He trekked all the way up the mountain to capture the special moment. He took fantastic pictures, more than I could ever ask for and helped direct my fiance and me through the photoshoot. Hoa was great to work with and I would highly recommend him to others, we are very thankful for his efforts.
Me and my husband wanted to go to Vietnam together for such a long time, and finally our dream came true! It was such a short trip, but Hoa made it very special for us. He showed us around the beautiful city, and to local places where we can't find in travel books! He responded very quickly, was very flexible and we became friends before we met.
